32nd Surajkund International Mela Kicked off, U.P Presented as the Theme State

The advent of spring started with the much-awaited arrival of 32nd Surajkund Craft Mela. The mela ground at Surajkund in the Faridabad, Haryana is playing host to the annual Crafts Mela. This is something you shouldn’t miss!

This year, Surajkund Mela Authority is presenting “Uttar Pradesh” as its Theme Nation. This post will provide you brief details about this grand event.

The vibrant blues of Ramayana

The main assembly is presented on the lines of the holy Ramayana. The assembly area stage is showing a glimpse of a landscape of the popular Kanak Bhawan Temple of Ayodhya. While the left portion of the stage is set with a scene of Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya in the Pushpak flying car and the illustrious Rama Setup. In addition, the grandeur of Ayodhya city under the reign of Lord Rama is pictorially represented.

The highlights of Ganga Ghats 

Surajkund Mela ground is paying a glorious tribute to the most thronged banks of holy Ganges in Varanasi. There are 8 ghats, namely, Tulsi Ghat, Ganga Mahal Ghat, Janaki Ghat, Assi Ghat, Harishchandra Ghat, Manikarnika Ghat and Sangam Ghat. These ghats are the center of attractions in this fair. Another highlight of the mela is a tableau of Lord Shiva’s famous abode. 

SAARC Nations participating in Surajkund Mela

The craftsmen and artists of about 25 countries are showcasing their expertise through their enchanting creations. Visitors are enjoying the folk-art of different regions of the world. Kyrgyzstan is participating as the partner Nation in the fair.

The SAARC nations, African, and Asian countries are also representing their arts and traditions through different items. 

Your child safety is important 

Special Forces have been employed to ensure child safety at the fair. The policy of zero tolerance is followed towards child rights violations. Moreover, there will be a ‘lost and found’ counter to help people find missing children. You will also find special conveniences such as breastfeeding booth, children creche of officials and workers, first-aid booth and child-friendly space.

Special Privileges

The differently-abled, senior citizens, serving soldiers, war widows and their dependents are eligible to avail 50% discount on entry tickets. While, school and college students can avail 50% discount on entry tickets from Monday to Friday by showing their valid identity cards at the time of purchasing the tickets. The Surajkund Mela Timings are from 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM.
